A New Lulu’s Bar and Grill For You

The new Lulu’s entrance

It was unexpected for sure, but it seems the city wasn’t quite done with that fancy square they installed when the cinema was built a couple months ago. This past week, sidewalks were closed and Dead End’s most beloved hang out was out-of-order. While denizens scrambled to find what else to do since the one place they could get a bite, drink and an eyeful of flesh all at the same time was out of the question; workers sweated around the clock, shift after shift, fixing and adding to the old landmark.

Lulu’s is back up and running for the most part. The place is just a tad smaller and the stage is gone, but the current manager was most pleased that investors supported his request for the poles to be brought back to the tables and bar.

Looks like you’ll be getting a true serving of fish n’ chips, Dead End.

Not everyone was happy with the changes, we heard some grumblings about losing the stage area that gave the false notion of privacy, but those not happy at the changes at Lulu’s should be grateful it was even finished. Not far from the banging and clanking at Lulu’s, what looks like new office buildings behind the cinema and across from Red Herring started to go up. Both construction sites have been at a stand still, though, as funds start to run low and investors start to pull out.

“Sometimes construction is a lot more expensive than projected. We can’t always see whats underneath. These buildings were a lot more damaged than we thought. Things are just going to have remain on pause for a while” says one investor, who chose to not be named since he is the primary reason that the construction area across from Red Herring is now so unsafe.

What about the closed sidewalks? The muggers who hide over in that dark tunnel and can attack without anyone seeing? Those were just a few questions that investors and the city has declined to answer, despite the two muggings and one attempted rape that was reported to The Daily.
