DEPD Captain Still Missing After Mass Kidnapping
6/10
The DEPD reported this morning that the mass kidnapping that occurred last night seems to be over. A spokesman for the department said that the hostages were released unharmed, reportedly after Captain Snow negotiated for their release in exchange for information wanted by the captors.
The spokesman also said that the Captain had called last night and had granted her captors immunity, though she has not yet been released, nor has she been heard from since. Naturally, the DEPD is very concerned about their missing officer. However, the search to find her has been suspended since her making contact late last night. Several officers expressed differing opinions about the woman’s capture and the search being called off in interviews conducted.
Officer Coyoti Kharg expressed confidence in the captain, saying “Captain Snow knows what she’s doing. She’s a strong woman and a great leader. The search being called off is not ideal, but we will find her.”
Equally resolute, Acting Vice Sergeant Fenix Molotovski was clearly furious at the actions taken. When he spoke to the press, his Russian accent laced his words with irritation. “I think it’s an unwise move. You don’t find something by deliberately not looking for it. We have the manpower and the resources to track her down with a little bit of time. We have cards in our hand that we’re not playing, and pieces on the board we’re not moving. It’s agitating to the extreme, and it’s making some of us anxious. Whenever her captors are found out…” He took a drag of his cigarette here before looking directly toward this reporter, “May God have mercy on their souls. Because I sure as hell won’t.”
We tracked down two other Sergeants for the DEPD: SVU Sergeant Zachary Carmichael, and CSU Sergeant Ming Yheng, both of whom expressed concern for their Captain and friend. Sergeant Carmichael was caught on the steps of the DEPD this morning, looking tired and holding a cup of coffee. He didn’t spare much time to speak with reporters but said: “” This is not a matter of personal opinion. The DEPD expresses its concern about the security of Capitain Snow but is confident about her ability to get through this. The DEPD remains focused on its prime objective: the protection of every citizen of Dead End, including Elizabeth Snow. No further comment, thank you ”
Sergeant Yheng replied to that question with an annoyed look on her face “If this is what this hellhole of a town is coming to, one of the most important people, and one I care about deeply, can be kidnapped without any repercussions for the criminals, what is next? The Mayor being kidnapped and kneeling in front of the criminals to apologize to them for giving them a hard time to find him? *censored* this! I am going to find the Captain myself then, even if I have to tear down every building in Deadend, even if it will cost me my job, but I am going to find her.”
We were able to talk to Rookie Dasha Sayevich seemed disbelieving when we approached her this morning as well and told us “”When I had first heard that Captain Snow had gone missing, I was skeptical, I figured it was some hazing stunt cops play on rookies. But when reality set in, quite frankly I was worried. I mean we just had coffee the other night and we really bonded. Needless to say, I was fuckin pissed off when they called off the search. So much that I even climbed down into those filthy sewers to go look for a body. Now get that *censored* recorder out of my face.”
The other individuals kidnapped, DEPD Lieutenant Shade Manx, County Commissioner Kahlen Vaniva, and owner of the DE Darkroom Fae Xue were not available for comment, but reports say that they were supposedly dumped in Dead Drop some time around midnight last night. Dr. Callista Kharg (wife of Officer Coyoti Kharg) spoke for the DEMH and answered questions relating to the condition of the patients that were brought to her last night: ” There was only one woman I spoke with, and she seemed in relatively good condition considering the circumstance, they were well enough to not need immediate medical attention and were allowed to leave.”
When asked to confirm reports that this mass kidnapping was explicitly targeting members of the DEPD and city officials, she refused to comment on the situation, saying “I’m afraid I cannot confirm nor deny any claims of the sort. Our main concern was simply the condition of woman’s health.”
Some speculate that this is related to the kidnappings and maulings of officers of the DEPD that have been occurring regularly for several weeks now. Officers have no suspects in those cases and refused to comment about the unfolding story, saying that until they had more information they could not make a certain connection.
