The Super Bowl In Dead End
The 2013-2014 NFL season comes to a close on February 2 with the premiere sporting event of the year, Super Bowl XLVIII (that’s 48 for those of you not up on your Roman numerals). This year’s game pits the ferocious defense of the Seattle Seahawks against the record setting offense of the Denver Broncos in a game that, on paper, is so close, even the oddsmakers can’t decide who the favorite is. Seemingly each day and each venue, the line changes showing just how closely these two teams match up to one another.
In celebration of the game, a few of Dead End’s businesses have some football themed promotions:
- Lulus is offering special shots celebrating each team. Also buy one get one free on the day of the game
- Easy 8’s and Pizza Slut are partnering to offer free “Food Stuff” to patrons on Superbowl night. Drinks half price at Easy 8. Come in and root for your favorite team, and play a game of pool yourself! Of course there will be no bets taken on the game in the private room, that would be illegal.
- Red Herring is offering rice crispy treats shaped like footballs, covered in chocolate and decorated with icing. Also, to commemorate the legalization of marijuana in both Colorado and Washington, they will be offering “special brownies” dedicated to each state
- The Roughhouse will have free beer for the night and will also be having a raffle. The grand prize will be slabs of beer for anyone who shows up and buys a non-beer drink.
- Miss Kitty’s Tea House will have 30% off Sushi trays, that folks can get to go. Each one will come with a free order of mochi ice cream.
- Pharaoh’s Secondhand Bookstore asked we tell the super bowl wives we’ve got chocolate and romance novels 50-75% off until the winner of the game is declared. Also offering vibrating fingertip massagers with each purchase
- The Hedonist Casino will have half off drinks all night, free drinks during half time and will randomly give away $100 cash for each touch down scored by either team.
Whether you’re rooting for Peyton Manning to throw a touchdown over Richard Sherman or for Marshawn Lynch to rumble into the end zone in a beast mode run, make sure to visit one of the above establishments and enjoy the game!
