Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Victors

It had been billed as the Super Bowl too close to call… the rare time the top ranking team from each conference had met in the final game… the matchup of the best defense against the best offense only witnessed three times before… the ultimate test of wills.  What was predicted as a very even game quickly became a laugher as the Seattle Seahawks scored in a record 12 seconds on a errant snap for a safety and never looked back, embarrassing the high powered offense of the Denver Broncos for a final score of 43-8.  Despite having league MVP Peyton Manning at the helm the Broncos found themselves completely suffocated by the hard hitting defense of the Seahawks who forced four turnovers and made the most of the generous field position afforded to them.

A side story to the game itself was the talk it would be the coldest one on record but while we here in Dead End remain in the midst of a freeze that has slowed our imports from the docks, the temperature in New Jersey rose just enough for one game of football.  And for those of you unaware, Met Life Stadium resides in the garden state of New Jersey, not New York.

While the game proved to be a lopsided affair, it hopefully brought about a few hours of much needed entertainment in our fair city along with the plethora of promotions local businesses doled out during the contest.
