DA Fights For Death Penalty In Dead End

District Attorney Pagan Newport

District Attorney Pagan Newport

According to Michigan state law the death penalty is unconstitutional, and has been since 1846. Our great state being one of the few to have never executed a person after they were ratified into the union, but someone in our fair city wants to change that. Our very own District Attorney has been seen in Washington DC in recent months shaking hands and kissing babies with some of the primed and primed  politicians and has been working in our own state capital of Lansing to working on some new projects and trying to make some changes.

What are the changes you ask? Well, he wants to bring the death penalty back to the state. That’s right after over 150 years of being a capital punishment free zone our DA Pagan Newport Yheng is working to bring it back. When asked why he was working so hard to bring it back he had this to say,

“ this year along the crimes of murder..assault and attacks by gangs are at an all time high, something needs to be done to get this under some kind of control… Punishments are not fitting the crimes committed”

Tough words from our mysterious DA. It leads this reporter to wonder what exactly he has in store for other aspects of the city, and what all his back slapping in Washington and Lansing are going to bring to our fair city? Mostly ignored by the national spotlight Dead End has been making waves lately with our shipping problems and seemingly endless shortages. Recent rumors of our City Planners and Mayor himself joining the charge to Washington to help save this once proud city are starting to filter into the office. Is the DA working with them? Are the city employees ever going to see another check that actually clears the bank? The world is full of surprises, but I can tell you this much. As I walk through the filth covered streets and see the garbage piling up, something has to be done. The Docks simply are not producing the income that  we need and the idea of a movie coming to town to save us makes about as much sense as putting a bandaid on a head wound. Its simply not going to be enough, of course that is just this reporter’s opinion.
