Masked Man Kidnaps Woman On The Bridge

The bridge leading into the Red Light District has been a beacon for vehicular trouble of late.  Last night saw the latest, which began innocently enough with a truck rudely honking at this reporter as I tried to take some pictures for an article of mine.  After grumbling and moving out of the way, I returned my attention to my photography and in so doing, managed to miss the ruckus occurring less than 50 feet away.  As it turns out, while my back was turned, another vehicle showed up, this one a white van.  Sandwiched in between was an, as of yet, unnamed woman who apparently made contact with the truck.

Before departing, he showed me how he could count to one.

Before departing, he showed me how he could count to one.

Out of the white van hopped a tall man fully masked and waving both a bat and a knife around.  His target appeared to be the woman who, while dazed from bumping into the truck, was quickly snatched by the nightstalker and tossed into his van.

By the time I realized what was happening and hurried over, the masked criminal was waving his weapons at the onlookers who had witnessed the open air kidnapping.  Despite my attempts to halt his escape, the man managed to hop back into his van and make off with his captive.  A call was placed to 911 but no officers made it to the scene yet again.  We understand the DEPD is in a period of transition so we are holding out hope that this problem will soon be rectified.

Despite the lack of police presence on hand, we have learned since that the issue is under investigation and the van is said to have been spotted around town though that has yet to be confirmed.  If you have any information about the identity or whereabouts of both the attacker and his victim, please notify the DE Daily or DEPD immediately.
