Red Herring Robbed, Employees Assaulted
The popular coffee spot ” The Red Herring ” was robbed Monday when a masked and pigtailed young woman carrying a baseball bat and a knife made her way into the shop and ordered a cup of coffee. The manager and local business owner, Ruby Dove, promptly told the masked and shoeless young woman that she would be more than happy to take her order, just as soon as she had removed the mask. Instead of agreeing the pixie-ish patron began threatening the good natured Ruby.
As if threats weren’t enough the masked customer soon drew her knife and began to make her way around the shop’s counter , earning herself a coffee machine to the chest as Ms. Dove attempted to make her way to safety. The would be attacker threw her knife at Ms. Dove in outrage, missing the barista by less than an inch. A would be customer attempted to enter the foray, and distracted the thief long enough for Ms. Dove to collect the attackers knife in an attempt to call a halt to the little misadventure. It was then that the pigtailed prankster drew her bat and began to brandish it at the pair.
It was a swing and a miss for the robber, who promptly found herself with her own dagger sticking out of her waiflike form, though it didn’t seem to deter her much leading police to believe she was likely high on something. The amount of noise the ruckus caused alerted passersby and with the aid of one manager Ruby Dove was escorted from the cafe shaken but unharmed. River Panic, the would be customer who’d distracted the tiny terror long enough for Ms. Dove to collect the knife also made it from the shop unharmed the pair leaving the drugs crazed woman alone in the shop.
According to CCTV the blonde took the time to shatter the display case glass and empty the register before removing her mask and making her escape. While police didn’t manage to arrive on scene until after the fun was long over, the CCTV footage was released to them and an APB has been put out for the unidentified blonde. As always Dead Enders, if you can identify her please call the DE Daily. A reward may be waiting for you!
