Officer Drugged, Red Herring Management Behind Bars

The Red Herring

The Red Herring

Many of you are aware of the popular coffee and bakery shop, The Red Herring and it’s rather lurid allegations. Rumors have persisted for years of pastries laced with illegal substances though past owners and employees all vehemently deny such claims and point to the lack of credibile charges and or arrests in that regard. Some may say that a rumor that doesn’t die isn’t a rumor while others maintain persistence in rumors leads to a belief of fact. History is replete with such examples.

Saturday afternoon Lt. Roxy Smythe, along with Officers Med Renfold and Sarah Jericho, found themselves inside the popular coffee establishment where they spotted Officer Ravenhurst clinging to consciousness. Shop manager Nick Kytori was nearby, apparently having received tazer treatment from the fallen officer. New owner Andi Richards proceeded to toss sugar in the air either as a bakers recreation of Lebron James’s well know pregame rituals involving chalk or in celebration of her new business venture. Whatever her intentions, the attending DEPD officers took it as an attempt to obstruct their work and placed the woman under arrest.

Manager Kytori was also taken to the DEPD cells because upon review of the CCTV footage, officers noted that the man had given Officer Ravenhurst a cupcake not long before she became ill.  The remnants of that cupcake were taken to CSU for testing but despite the possibilities of food allergens or something of the like, the officers chose to arrest the management team prior to the test being complete.  Perhaps the long running rumors played a part in their decision.
