Afternoon Tea At the 8 Turns Into A Food Fight
If you’ve ever seen Animal House or at the very least least know of movie, then you probably know the moment where John Belushi turns to camera and yells “Food fight!” What happens next is obvious. That is essentially how things transpired during the Easy 8’s “Afternoon Tea” event. It had been a quiet, upscale, and as some would describe, posh, event. Perhaps it was too posh or maybe there was a little something extra in that tea that made owner Lucas Bayne initiate morsel combat. It started simple, a cake tossed at the head of Fire Chief Mela Dylasari-Bellic. Then, it began.
Tarts went flying, and not the sort in short skirts. Scones were hurled. Cakes were smooshed. Yet it was the simple little cucumber sandwiches that became the true weapons of war. Former Lulu’s manager Steph Lowensztark took her sandwich from hell and smashed it into a man named Zeke’s face then ground a tray full of them into Mr. Bayne’s new suit, which he claimed to have just purchased. Though, with food hurling as it was, the suit likely was ruined enough already. A few cake grenades later and the situation got physical with flying tackles and forward tackles until every piece of food at hands reach was hurtled at anyone and everyone’s head, including people who were just wandering in for a game of pool. Eventually the bite size battle royale came to a close without any lasting physical damage. The interior of the 8 though, well, let’s say the janitor’s were less then thrilled at seeing what the boss and his friends had done to the place.
