Anyone who is even a casual reader of this publication is bound to be aware of the criminal exploits of Dion Lambert.  There’s been murders, rapes, cannibalistic attacks, the marriage to his own daughter, just to name a few.  Not to mention being the known leader of a local cult.  He’s been arrested so many times, he likely has own monogrammed prison attire by now and on Thursday night, he got to don them once again.

Detective Kerri Oakleaf

Mr. Lambert was out for a ride on his Harley when he spotted Detective Kerri Oakleaf strolling along.  Rather than simply riding by or even tossing a few unpleasant words, he instead chose to rev his engine and attempt to score 50 points for running over a cop.  Thankfully, Det. Oakleaf was able to dodge him but a hit and run wasn’t all the man had in mind.  Mr. Lambert brought his hog to a halt and according to eye witnesses, grabbed a tire iron and proceeded to beat the poor detective with it.  Mortified onlookers made a call to 911 who dispatched Officer Oskar Wulffe and later Officers Kaotics, Milk and Med Renfold along with Lieutenant Roxy Smythe to assist their injured comrade.  The officers managed to bring down the bloodthirsty man though multiple tazerings and haul him back to a familiar setting, jail.  Detective Oakleaf was taken to the DEMH for treatment.  Questions remain as to what prompted Mr. Lambert to target Det. Oakleaf in the first place.  Was it a personal attack?  Part of a war on the DEPD?  Or just something to do on a Thursday? Sources were unable to confirm just what the answer is.

Like his wife, Alice Lambert, this latest attack and incarceration of Dion Lambert raises the question on the  ability to truly rehab a career criminal.  Can someone without compassion for human life suddenly find it?  If not, what do you do with that person who’s clearly a danger to society?  That is a question a judge will likely soon be deciding.
