Fire Chief Poisoned At Jade Dragon Reopening
The Jade Dragon’s new owner, Kaito, had promised that the old sushi bar would be showcasing exotic foods for “brave eaters”. During the grand re-opening Friday night, they did exactly that, offering Fugu just as Kahlen had suspected in her article. For those of you unfamiliar, Fugu is the Japanese word for pufferfish as well as the culinary term for the dish made from them. They’re an expensive delicacy but also potentially toxic if not prepared correctly and it is possible to die from consumption of ill prepared Fugu. With the allure of the dangerous but tasty fish, several patrons plunked down large chunks of cash, rumored to be near $1,000 a piece. Fire Chief Mela Dylasari-Bellic, actually took two pieces and downed them quickly. Unfortunately, the slices the Chief had were of the toxic variety.
Suspended firefighter, Deus Richards was right there and immediately got the Chief out of the restaurant where he dialed 911 and got her to vomit the tainted fish all over the place. EMT Kendall Rae Eiren arrived and loaded Mrs. Dylasari-Bellic into an ambulance for transport to the DEMH where it is reported the fish is no longer in her system and she is expected to make a full recovery.
Curiously the NPC chef of the Jade was later found in the gutters at the beach. Rumors have it the letter K had been carved into his skin in multiple places. Considering the situation, authorities might wanna question his employer. After all, his name does start with a K.
