The Dead End Police Department learned through interesting means that one of their officers went missing.  Detective Tarra Thornton, one of Dead End’s more talented detectives, learned on Thursday evening of the missing Vie MacClawden and set to work immediately questioning locals, gathering CCTV footage and doing all she can to ensure the swift return of one of Dead End’s citizenry.  Working through the night and well into Friday the rubenesque detective seemed unflappable in her dedication to her duty.  Perhaps it was that dedication that was her undoing.

According to sources inside the DEPD Detective Thornton had been on duty for so many hours in a row working the MacClawden case that when she didn’t report in last even at shift’s end she was radioed.  Whether her kidnappers answered the radio pretending to be the sleep deprived officer, or the call went unanswered is currently unclear.  What is clear is that until your favorite reporter and editor received the above photo announcing Detective Thornton’s kidnap, torment and humiliation as well as a note that were the picture not published the good detective would be murdered.

To Detective Thornton’s Kidnappers:

You’ve made a mistake going after one of mine.  You shit in my yard, big mistake.  Return Detective Thornton immediately, unharmed and turn yourselves in. I’ll go easy on you.  If you make me come find you I’m going to rain down all the fires of hell atop you.  You’ve been warned.

Cpt. Shade Manx, DEPD

Please, the Detective was doing her job and trying to save the life of a wife, a mother, a business owner.  Let her go.  She’s a good, honest, hard working detective and doesn’t deserve this.  If you need further incentive the DE Daily is willing to offer $10,000 for her safe return.  You have my number, you sent me the picture. Send me word where to make the exchange. No questions asked.   My way is better than the Captain’s.  Please. Let Tarra go.
