Streets of Dead End
Traffic is killing. The numbers don’t lie. Every year there are more accidents and fatalities in the streets of Dead End. It’s only logical the DEPD is trying to do everything in it’s power to take measures and get street maniacs under control. However, sometimes the means are worse than the ends, according to some people.
Last sunday a police patrol came across one of the most notorious Hellcats known as Titi. She was riding her bike in such a way, it was clear to them she was drunk or under influence of drugs or both. A chase was set in, which resulted in a dead man’s ride across town. Titi slipped on the corner of Keystreet and Lockstreet and crashed against the parked car of the owner of the Pawn Shop. Titi was thrust against the wall of the building and suffered such injuries that she had to be rushed to the hospital. When they weren’t able to help her sufficiently there, she was transported by helicopter to the General Hospital in Detroit, where she is currently stable but in a coma.
The infamous Yhengs were there when the accident happened and they demanded an explanation from the police about the wild chase. When they didn’t like the answers they got, a fight erupted. Xelan Yheng was arrested and accused of having started the fight.
Though the Yhengs responded in a manner that was far from civilized, their question about police conduct seems to have been valid. By giving chase in such a ruthless manner the police not only put the life of the perpetrator at risk, but several civilians had to jump out of the way to save themselves. One old lady commented “If I had been out for a walk, I would surely have been run over.” It is a miracle that only the biker who was chased got injured. And it would have been far better if the biker had been halted and arrested instead.
Still, we do agree the deadly traffic has to be dealt with and we can only hope the DEPD will find ways to enforce traffic rules without endangering regular street users any further.
