Around 6:00 p.m. on Black Friday, November 27, 2015, the Dead End Pawn Shop was attacked by a group of unknown people wearing dark clothing. Bashing in the door with baseball bats, they caused a commotion in the shop. A lawn gnome was seen thrown out the window, shattering into pieces on the ground.

The DEPD tased two women who were suspected to be accomplices to the incident, including one with pink hair. It is not known as of press time who exactly the main attackers were and what their motives could have been. However, an anonymous tip to this paper hinted that it could have been a Hellcats attack on a group known as the Pawns.

Cas MacClawden, 28, a former DEPD sergeant who works at a bookshop and as a tech freelancer, observed the goings-on from afar. When asked what was happening, he commented, “Honestly, without being able to see everything for myself, I wouldn’t be able to guess. My guess is someone pissed someone else off, and now they’re getting paid a visit.”

MacClawden surmised that it was possible that the Pawn Shop was involved, though he added, “But then again, people sell shit to pawn shops all the time, and others get pissed off. So it’s truly hard to say.”

The day before, the shop was conducting business as usual and had been holding a Thanksgiving sale, but the Hellcats attacked a pawn clerk outside the Pawn Shop and dumped her on the hospital steps.

Earlier on Friday before the attack, the Pawn Shop was also seen getting rid of old merchandise at discounted prices.

After the Friday attack, the Pawn Shop was torn up, with its glass counter destroyed, shelves torn off the wall, and a window and door broken. An anonymous Pawn Shop staff member told this paper, “The Hellcats need to know that this isn’t just fun and games. If they don’t end their little war now, well, shit is just going to get worse. They’re not safe curled up in their little den at the Roughhouse.”

What could be the real cause of the conflict between the two gangs to warrant two attacks on the Pawn Shop on two days in a row? We welcome any news tips at the Dead End Daily’s pink mailbox at any time. Our news hotline is also open 24/7.
