Lawyer Arrested for Assault

It seems one of Dead End’s lawyers, will now need one of his own.  Braeden Daughtery was arrested Jan. 20 for aggravated assault by Capt. Tarra Thornton, who arrived outside of Pharaoh’s Used Books, to find Daughtery in a physical altercation with the owner of the shop, Vie Bayne.

While at first, it might’ve appeared as though Bayne was assaulting him – he was found lying helplessly on the ground, being beaten and choked by Ms. Bayne, his ear torn and bloodied, Thornton is convinced Daughtery is completely at fault for the event, “I can’t divulge what evidence we do have but I will say this. I haven’t had a slam dunk case like this dropped in my lap in a very long time.”

The evidence Thornton is referring to is, in all likelihood, the security camera footage retrieved from the book shop. A quick review of the footage seems to confirm the Captain’s belief.

Daughtery is seen entering the shop that Wednesday evening, and locking the door behind him. Ms. Bayne immediately looks nervous. Suddenly, without provocation, Daughtery reached out and squeezed the woman’s broken leg with one hand and her throat with the other, pushing her back against the wall. Daughtery then brandished a knife and proceeded to cut a piece of neck jewelry off of Ms. Bayne’s throat.

Choke

How it started: Deranged Lawyer attacking a wounded woman in her own shop.

The footage then shows Bayne becoming enraged and fighting back, biting Daughtery’s ear and pushing him off of her.  The fight moved to the outside of the book store, where two accomplices of Daughtery attempted to aid him in warding off the hellion.

Captain Thornton arrived soon after, broke up the fight and upon viewing the video, arrested Daughtery.  When asked comment, Captain Thornton replied, “… If a certain lawyer doesn’t start acting like a lawyer. I’ll personally see to it he is stripped of his license to practice law. Once you get that degree, you have responsibilities to hold yourself to higher standards then others.”

Choke 2

How it ended: Deranged lawyer taught who’s boss!

Well said, Captain. Well said.
