Editorial: The disgrace of the DEPD

A few weeks ago, a story was submitted to the paper for publication about a mother that lost her child. But as the story was told, the more the truth came out.

It would seem, the  Dead End Police Department’s leadership seem to think they can do as they please, beat and belittle prisoners and even steal babies to be given to Social Services if they deem the mother unfit. So where does this leave us? Well the hard working leader of the Flame of Truth ministries, which does so much for the homeless of this city, has fallen victim to the tyranny that is the leadership of the police department.

Police Capt. Tarra Thorton has seemed she is judge, jury and executioner in this city, and last we checked we had not fallen on apocalyptic times and she is not Judge Dredd. We are asking for some accountability from our police, to arrest the criminals and protect our citizens not abuse innocents and take babies from fit mothers. Thorton is a menace to Dead End, and how she got to being Police Captain is beyond us, she sure has followed in the every so violent foot steps of former Capt. Shade Manx.

And what of justice? District Attorney Pagan Newport-Yheng sits idly by and allows this to happen, would not surprise us if he has a hand in the abuse the people of this city receive the way he fails to act.

We are calling for a revolt, a revolution. Stop the police brutality, stop the police state. We are a free people and we do not need the Police of this city dictating what we can and cannot do.

As editor of this paper, I feel a little incentive should be given in helping to make out city safe for the people who live in it. I will offer a reward for anyone who can help take down the police captain. Proof can be given in her badge delivered to the paper. I am also calling for the return of Melangell Lambert-Bellic’s child, there is no reason a good mother should have to loose her child to a corrupt system.
