A trashy situation at the DEPD

By C. Gambino

The night of Jan. 26 found the Dead End Police Department in a smelly, literally, situation. Someone dumped what looked like a full truck load of trash into the lobby of the police station.

It is unclear at this time who is responsible, but rumors are unhappy sanitation workers may have dumped the load in spite.

A curfew was put into effect at 9:15 p.m., telling all citizens they must be in doors in 15 minutes or they would be cited. Anyone seen out after that time was put to work helping to clear the trash from the DEPD lobby.

Armed with shovels and a industrial dumpster, inmates and officers were seen clearing the refuge from the building. It was a slow process, aided by those who violated curfew and were arrested that evening for crimes.

As trash went flying, one curfew violator was heard saying,  ” I know you’re pigs and all, but still thought you were above monkeys throwing their own shit… Public service, my ass. More like slave labor. ”

When asked about the clean up, Capt. Tarra Thorton said, “You know it just warms my heart that a fine upstanding member of the community would offer to help the city out in its time of need. While some want to knock all the hard work the civil servants of Dead End put in.”

“There was a gas leak,” Thorton said in regards to the curfew. “It was broadcast all over town.”

As she gestured toward an inmate and two curfew violators, saying “See how much fun they are having helping the city out.”

As the mess was not all cleared, what remains tomorrow needs to be cleaned. The police are asking anyone who would like to lend a hand to please come out and help clean up the lobby. There are shoved and a larger dumpster for the trash.
