Dead End Flood Recap: August 2016

August 2016 will be remembered the great floods that wreaked chaos on downtown Dead End. While a lot of low laying land was victim to the flood water and tidal surges, the Red Light District and Crimson Avenue bore the brunt of the bad weather.

The Red Light District was affected the most as the lower part of Seamen Avenue was under as much as an estimated twelve to fifteen feet of water at some points, reaching up the structure of the landmark Seamen’s Bridge, and reaching a peak of twenty feet across the length of Crimson Avenue. This caused serious damage to Kink Ink, The Dark Room, Cherry Bomb Escorts, Spunk R Us, the ground floor of Wharfside Apartments, and Dick’s Halfway Inn.
Casualties were low thanks to advance warning from the local weather service. This forced the closure of Dead End docks and allowedresidents and staff of local businesses ample time to evacuate.
The lower Crimson Avenue stores were devastated with waters. The City Ordinance had blocked the old Subway Station years ago, so there was no release outlet for the mounting waters which at one point had engulfed the rooftops.
