The Court House ablaze. On Sunday, Jan. 10 at around 3:30 p.m. a huge explosion shook up Dead End city. The noise could even be heard in Dead Drop, such was the loudness of the explosion. Maynard Selby, the owner and operator of the Screw It Yourself hardware store, died in an explosion on Tuesday. Selby’s burnt and blackened corpse was found near the epicenter of the blast, which seems to have originated in his basement workshop.
